Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales & Distribution Officer to build and manage our customer network in Kisumu County. You will be the face of our brand to shop owners, responsible for growing sales, ensuring timely deliveries, and managing customer relationships. You will be a key user of our new ERP system for all order, invoicing, and customer management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Sales & Business Development (40%)
1. Proactively identify and onboard new retail shop customers in Muhoroni and target areas within Kisumu County.
2. Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
3. Build strong, long-term relationships with shop owners and managers.
4. Conduct product presentations and negotiate terms of sale.
5. Monitor competitor activity and provide market feedback.

B. Order & Distribution Management (40%)
1. Receive and process customer orders via phone, WhatsApp, or in-person visits.
2. Accurately enter all sales orders into the ERP system.
3. Plan and optimize daily/weekly delivery routes for efficiency.
4. Prepare delivery notes and invoices from the ERP system for drivers.
5. Liaise with the Operations Manager to align delivery schedules with production plans.
6. Resolve any delivery issues or customer complaints promptly.

C. Customer & Data Management (ERP) (20%)
1. Maintain accurate customer records (pricing, contact details, order history) in the ERP’s CRM module.
2. Track payments, follow up on overdue invoices, and reconcile accounts with the Finance officer.
3. Use the ERP system to generate sales reports (e.g., daily sales, customer performance, route profitability).
4. Ensure all sales and distribution data is captured accurately and in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma/Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
1. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in field sales, FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) distribution, or a similar role. Experience selling to kiosks and retail shops is a HUGE plus.
2. Must have a valid motorcycle or car driver’s license and be comfortable with daily field travel.
3. Tech Proficiency: Must be proficient in using smartphones and business apps. Prior experience with a sales/accounting software or ERP is highly desirable.
4. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
6. Extensive knowledge of the local geography (Kisumu County, especially Muhoroni and surrounding towns).
7. Resident of Kisumu County.
