Job Description

A. JOB SUMMARY
To manage the Institute’s financial transactions, prepare accounts, and ensure prudent financial management in compliance with public finance regulations and TVET funding guidelines.
B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process payments, invoices, and receipts accurately and timely.
• Maintain the general ledger and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Prepare budgets, financial reports, and bank reconciliation statements.
• Manage student fee billing and collection, and follow up on arrears.
• Process payroll and statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF).
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial acts and TVETA funding guidelines.
• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits.
C. REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Business Management (Accounting), or a relevant field from a recognized institution.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Part III or its equivalent from a recognized professional body.
3. Be a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing.
4. At least three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in an educational institution or public sector.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
