Job Description

A. JOB SUMMARY
To provide high-quality training in Nutrition and Dietetics, equipping students with the scientific knowledge and practical skills required for community nutrition education, therapeutic diet planning, and food service management.
B. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Deliver competency-based training in human nutrition, food science, diet therapy, and community nutrition.
• Train students in conducting nutritional assessments, developing diet plans, and managing malnutrition.
• Supervise students in food preparation labs and during community outreach attachments.
• Develop and utilize practical assessment tools to evaluate student competence.
• Guide students in research projects related to public health nutrition and dietary management.
• Participate in curriculum development and ensure training aligns with national nutritional guidelines.
C. REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics or a related field from a recognized university.
2. Must be a registered member of the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI) with a valid practicing license.
3. At least three (3) years of post-registration experience in clinical dietetics, public health nutrition, or a related field.
4. A TVET Trainers Methodology Certificate (from CDACC or equivalent) is mandatory. Candidates without it must commit to undertaking the training within the first year of employment.
5. Proven experience in training, mentoring, or curriculum development will be a distinct advantage.
