Job Purpose: The Wine Steward is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by providing knowledgeable wine recommendations and ensuring a high-quality customer experience. This role involves maintaining service standards, managing inventory, and contributing to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet and serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring high standards of customer satisfaction.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine selections and pairings, offering detailed descriptions of various wines.
• Take orders accurately and deliver beverages promptly.
• Ensure that all wine and beverage service areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-stocked.
• Assist in maintaining inventory and conducting regular stock checks.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe environment for both staff and customers.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to the Operations Manager when necessary.
• Participate in staff training sessions to enhance wine knowledge and service skills.
• Set up tables and ensure the dining area is prepared before service hours.
• Process transactions using the POS system efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Preferably a mature gentleman aged 28 years and above.
• Proficient in English, with excellent communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of service standards and practices in a high-end dining environment.
• Basic understanding of wines, with a willingness to undergo further training.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
