Role Description
The Business Development Intern will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as lead generation, market research, identifying new opportunities, develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and develop key skills in business development and consulting.
The primary responsibility of this role is to expand our client pipeline, convert leads into customers, and contribute to the growth of our brand.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and customer needs.
2. Analyze competitor activity and identify potential areas for business growth.
3. Lead generation – identify and research potential clients in target industries
4. Utilize various strategies, including cold calling, networking and referrals to generate leads
5. Client acquisition – build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers and influencers.
6. Present and promote our services to potential clients, highlighting the unique value proposition of our solutions.
7. Develop customized proposals and presentations to potential clients
8. Relationship management -foster long term relationships with new and existing clients
9. Provide weekly reports on market trends, sales activities and performance metrics.
10. Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted consumer engagement strategies.
11. Help track communication with customers and contribute to customer retention strategies.
12. Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks related to business development, including scheduling meetings and managing documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
• Strong negotiation and presentation skills
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Skills:
o Strong analytical and research skills.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute to team goals.
• Experience: Previous internship or experience in business development, sales, or marketing is a plus.
