Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for directing, managing, and leading the operational staff to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of catering services in accordance with Clients’ schedules, Corporate customer requirements, and Company standards
As an Operation Manager, your cardinal role will be to assist the management & G.M in the execution of the following responsibilities that involve several functions including but not limited to; Coordination of all units, events, food & equipment dispatch, logistics, procurement of office items, food items, Stores Management, and ensure that service delivery runs smoothly in all including event.
Key Responsibilities:
• To ensure the efficient and effective delivery of catering operations and designated services to the clients in accordance with the agreement and DCL SoPs
• To deliver the highest possible standard of food with the resources available and within budget.
• Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of the store supervisor and the Logistics Team (drivers).
• Manage the Catering Operation with the available resources within the budget and to achieve production targets.
• Drive the company’s operating and logistics capabilities to surpass customer satisfaction and retention, and company goals.
• With full knowledge of the IT system and programs, use data to evaluate performance and quality, and to plan operations and production improvements.
• Initiate and control the operation and production budget and keep company costs low.
• To manage and control the service offers for the client to the agreed specification and to the agreed performance
• To actively seek and identify opportunities and innovation for business growth & development with a focus on the latest food trends and best practices.
• Responsible for ISO:22000 compliance within the catering services and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
• Motivate, coach, and train staff to perform to the highest standards and in line with Sodexo Policy.
• To manage and control the effective operation of the company fleet
• Oversee the management of the Inventory for catering equipment and supplies
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to the G.M. on all matters of importance.
• Assist & support the Production team in planning and executing event operations.
Qualifications:
• Graduate in Business Management, Operations Management, Hotel management or a related field in food production.
• ISO 22000 and exposure to food standards
• Food safety awareness training is an added advantage
• Extensive knowledge of food & beverage operations, outside catering, food production, waste management, five keys to safer food.
• Strong Leadership and Management Abilities
• Experience in budgeting and food consumable forecasting.
• Ability to develop and implement effective strategies and plans.
• Proven experience within a high-volume catering environment.
• Excellent communication skills with Customers, Clients, Colleagues, and Team Members.
• Experienced leader with excellent people skills and a positive attitude.
• Resourcefulness (capable of taking the initiative and overcoming challenges).
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Self-motivated and innovative individual.
