Job Description

Our client a growing and reputable financial services provider, is seeking to hire a Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance department. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial transactions while contributing to the organization’s overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities
-Record and reconcile daily financial transactions in accounting software.
-Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
-Assist in bank reconciliations and petty cash management.
-Prepare and issue client invoices in a timely manner.
-Track collections and follow up on outstanding balances.
-Process supplier invoices and ensure appropriate authorization before payment.
-Assist with staff reimbursements and payroll data support.
-Support statutory compliance including PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, VAT, and Withholding Tax submissions.
-Maintain accurate and organized documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
-Assist in preparing internal financial reports for management decision-making.
-Support budget preparation and monitoring of departmental expenditures.
-Assist in variance analysis and reporting.
-Maintain proper filing of financial documents (both digital and physical).
-Support procurement and vendor management processes.
-Perform other finance-related administrative duties as assigned.

Education:
-Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
-CPA Section II or higher will be an added advantage.

Experience:

-3-5 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role (internship experience will be considered).
-Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage preferred.

Key Competencies:
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
-Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
-High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
