Job Opportunity: Business Analyst – Microfinance Sector (Nairobi)

About the Role
Our client, a reputable and fast-growing microfinance institution based in Nairobi, is seeking a highly analytical, business-minded, and process-driven Business Analyst to support strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen financial performance across the organization.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced financial environment and is passionate about transforming data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities
• Analyze business processes, financial performance, and customer data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and insights to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
• Collaborate with product, finance, and credit teams to optimize workflows and support business growth initiatives.
• Document business requirements, functional specifications, and process maps for new systems or improvements.
• Support the implementation and optimization of core systems (e.g., loan management, CRM, digital channels).
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis on microfinance and digital lending trends.
• Track KPIs and design data-driven solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, IT, or related field.
• 2–4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in microfinance, fintech, banking, or financial services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, or similar reporting tools.
• Experience documenting business requirements and designing workflows/process maps.
• Understanding of credit processes, loan products, and microfinance operations is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
