Job Opportunity: Sports Manager

Location: Nairobi–Machakos Border (Joska)
Employment Type: Full-time

Our client, an award-winning private institution renowned for excellence in academics, STEM, arts, and sports, is seeking a Sports Manager to lead and grow its vibrant sports department. The school boasts championship titles in football, netball, and handball, alongside national recognition in the Kenya National Music Festivals, and is committed to developing well-rounded students through competitive and recreational sports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and oversee the school’s sports programs in line with its holistic education approach.
• Recruit, coach, and mentor sports staff and student athletes.
• Organize training schedules, inter-school competitions, tournaments, and friendly matches.
• Identify, nurture, and develop talent across multiple sporting disciplines.
• Ensure the maintenance, safety, and proper use of all sports facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate with academic and co-curricular teams to balance students’ academic and sports commitments.
• Represent the school in sports associations and liaise with governing bodies.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness among students.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Proven track record in sports coaching, management, or administration, preferably within a school setting.
• Experience organizing and leading competitive school sports teams.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate young athletes to achieve their potential.
• Commitment to student welfare, safety, and holistic development.
