Job Description

Position Summary:

A well-established private school based in Nairobi is looking for an experienced and dedicated Transport Manager to lead and manage its school’s transport operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for our students, staff, and visitors. You’ll lead a team of drivers, manage our vehicle fleet, and ensure all regulatory and safety standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring a high level of safety and punctuality.
2. Manage and schedule drivers to cover all routes, special events, and outings.
3. Maintain the school’s fleet of vehicles, including routine servicing, repairs, and regulatory inspections.
4. Develop and manage budgets for transport operations and maintenance.
5. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and health and safety standards.
6. Handle transportation issues, incidents, and emergencies with appropriate communication to school leadership and parents.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Transport Manager or similar role, ideally within an educational or hospitality setting.
• Strong understanding of transportation and fleet management.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and transport legislation.
• Proficiency in transport scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license; additional certifications in transport management are a plus.
