Job Description

Performance Manager

Mwananchi Credit Limited seeks a self-driven and performance-oriented individual to fill the position of Performance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all performance management activities within the company, adhering to the performance management cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide responsive and proactive support and advice to line managers on all performance management related issues, from planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Interpret and apply performance management policy and all other relevant frameworks guiding performance management within respective business areas.
• Implement a robust process for tracking progress, from goal setting and mid-year reviews to end-of-year evaluations, to support individual, team, and organizational performance.
• Provide effective performance management consultancy, guidance, technical, and administrative expertise to departments on all performance management matters.
• Provide monthly and quarterly reports to each Line Manager on goal attainment, Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), and development plans.
• Ensure timely completion of Performance Contracts (PCs) and appraisals by staff within assigned business areas.
• Prepare Appraisal reports for assigned business areas and submit them to the Performance Analysis & Reporting Manager for consolidation.
• Ensure the effective implementation of the performance coaching program within respective business areas.

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related discipline from a recognized university, preferably with a focus on HR.
• Post Graduate qualification in Human Resource Management.
• Experience in performance management within a progressive organization is desirable.
• Additional professional qualification/certification in performance management is an1 added advantage.
• Membership in a relevant professional body.

Professional Experience:

• At least seven (7) years of work experience, with three (3) years at a senior management level.
Person Specifications:
• Ability to motivate, guide, and develop teams.
• Effective communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
• Capacity to analyze performance data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions.
• A proactive and driven approach with a focus on achieving targets and objectives.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor staff to enhance their performance.
• Demonstrates ethical behavior and maintains confidentiality.
