Vallez International is a U.S.-based international consulting and project management firm establishing offices in East Africa, now seeking resumes from bi-lingual (English – Swahili) project site representatives to assist with the construction of future projects in East Africa.

• Successful candidates will have at least a two-year post-secondary school degree and five years of experience as a manager or supervisor of construction projects.  A college degree in engineering or construction management-related discipline will be beneficial.
• The ideal candidate will have computer skills including Excel, word, and computerized scheduling with a program like P6 or an equivalent scheduling program

Job responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:

• Coordinate the communication between the owner and architect during the design phase.
  Develop cost estimates by generating a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and unit costs of construction elements.
• Develop and maintain computerized project schedules with weekly updates.
• Facilitate communication between the contractor, architect, and owner, acting as the owner’s representative to address contractor requests for information, change requests, and schedule and cost status.
• Participate in weekly project meetings between the owner, architect, and contractor.  Meetings may be in person or virtual.
• Continuous daily presence at the job site and monitoring construction quality, work performed, manpower, and preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly project reports.
• Intervene and report to upper management when the project has quality or safety issues.
• Assure that the contractor is following the local requirements for safety.
• Review contractor invoices for accuracy and completeness to ensure that the payment requests are consistent with the actual work performed on the site.
• Project closeout to include closure of all contracts, costs, changes, and project documentation.
  Compensation will be commensurate with the education and experience of the candidates.
